SCCL and HKU Joint MEd


Masters of Education (MEd) degree programme to be jointly offered by SCCL and The University of Hong Kong, Faculty of Education

 

A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between Singapore Centre for Chinese Language and The University of Hong Kong, Faculty of Education, to jointly offer a Masters of Education (MEd) degree programme, expected to begin in 2011. Application for admission is expected to commence in 2010. Details will be available in due course. Please visit our website for further updates.


Modes of teaching/learning include:
  1. Intensive classes: Taught by HKU professors. Location: Singapore and HK. Frequency: 3 times per academic year – September   (1 week in SCCL), Mid-November (2 weeks in HKU) and June (1 week in SCCL).

 
  2. Ordinary classes: Taught by SCCL lecturers, throughout the year. Location: Singapore.


  3. E-learning(2 types):
    a. Face-to-face e-learning: Once per week. Tentatively on Friday evenings, taught by HKU professors through videoconferencing.
    b. Pre-recorded video telecasts. To be conducted regularly throughout the semesters.


  4. Online independent study: To be conducted regularly throughout semesters.
