Collaboration with SEED Institute
A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between Singapore Centre for Chinese Language (SCCL) and SEED Institute, to provide professional upgrading opportunities for in-service preschool Chinese-language teachers in Singapore.
SCCL is in the process of developing in-service pre-school CL teachers’ courses and training schedules for 2010. Details of curriculum and timetables will be announced early 2010.

On 24 November 2009, SCCL participated in the MOE Kindergarten Learning Forum, to showcase and share with preschool educators innovative efforts and best practices in early childhood Chinese-language teaching.
SCCL also organized two workshops on preschool Chinese-language instruction on 28 November 2009. Both forums received overwhelming responses.
SCCL and SEED Institute are in the process of seeking out a suitable partner university to collaborate in offering a part-time Chinese degree programme for preschool teachers.
